How do I add a spice to my inventory?
You can add spices by scanning a barcode, taking a photo of your spice cabinet with AI Cabinet Scan, or by tapping the "+" button and entering the details manually.
What is included in the free version?
The free version lets you manage up to 2 spices in 1 rack. Premium unlocks unlimited spices, unlimited racks, AI cabinet scanning, voice search, and cloud backup.
How do I upgrade to Premium?
Go to Settings and tap on the Subscription section, then select "Upgrade to Premium." You can choose a monthly ($2.99/month) or yearly ($19.99/year, save 44%) plan.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store. On iOS, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play Store > Subscriptions. Your premium features remain active until the end of your billing period.
Can I restore my purchase on a new device?
Yes. Open the app, go to Settings > Subscription, and tap "Restore Purchases." Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used for the original purchase.
Is my data backed up?
By default, your spice data is stored locally on your device. Premium subscribers can enable cloud backup by signing in and tapping "Sync Now" in Settings to keep their data safe and accessible across devices.
Why didn't my barcode scan find a product?
Some spice products may not be in the barcode databases we use. You can always add the spice manually by entering the name, brand, and other details yourself.
How do expiration reminders work?
When you set an expiration date on a spice, the app will send you a local notification based on your chosen timing (1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, or 1 month before). You can select multiple reminder timings and your preferred notification time in Settings > Notification Preferences.
What is the Spice Encyclopedia?
The Learn tab has a built-in encyclopedia with over 40 spices. You can search by name, flavor, or use, and filter by category. Each entry includes flavor profiles, origins, culinary uses, pairing suggestions, substitutes, shelf life info, and fun facts.
How do Blend Recipes work?
The Blends tab shows 15 international spice blend recipes. The app compares your inventory against each recipe and tells you which blends you "Can Make" (you have all the ingredients) or are "Almost There" (missing just 1-2 spices). Tap any blend to see the full recipe with amounts and pro tips.
How do I track how much of a spice I have left?
Open any spice from your inventory, then use the "Amount Remaining" slider to set the percentage from 0% to 100%. The slider is color-coded (green, orange, red) and will automatically flag a spice as "running low" when it drops below 20%.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not directly by us. On iOS, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, open Google Play Store > Account > Order History.
